AWOL soldier killed in Cavinti
A 67-YEAR-OLD farmland caretaker was killed after being shot by an unidentified suspect while standing outside his house on Tuesday evening in Sitio Duhatan, Bgy. Anglas, Cavinti, Laguna.
Cavinti Police Chief P/Major Ramises De Castro said the victim was an AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave) soldier from the Philippine Army.
The victim died immediately due to gunshot wounds sustained in his body from an unknown caliber.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect was wearing a gray jacket with a hood and riding a black motorcycle as a getaway vehicle.
The incident happened around 7:40 p.m. when the suspect arrived at the victim’s house and pretended to ask something but suddenly shot the victim several times using an unknown caliber firearm.
After the incident, the suspect immediately fled toward Luisiana, Laguna.
The unidentified suspect is still “at large” and is the subject of a police manhunt by Cavinti Police.
