ALFONSO, Cavite – Reelected Alfonso Mayor Randy Salamat shared that 70% of the town’s land will remain as “protected agriculture area” according to a recent interview on the TV program “All Politics is Local” hosted by Cheryl Cosim and Jay Taruc over One News PH.

According to Salamat, “We maintain that Alfonso is one of the ‘safest’ municipalities in the country to live and do business here safely.”

Salamat mentioned that 70% of agricultural land maintains natural resources and protects farmers.

“The town of Alfonso is rich in agriculture; we need to focus on the farmers if we don’t support them, we also don’t have ‘anything’ to eat at our dining table,” the mayor pointed out

“This is just one of the things we want to pass on the beauty of Alfonso to the next generations,” added Salamat.

Based on the zoning plan of the locality, the Alfonso local government assigned areas for hotels, restaurants, and farms.

Salamat also said that the local government requires all business establishments to employ at least 70% of their staff all locals or from Alfonso town.

He encouraged all the business establishments to “patronize local products and support local products” and established the Alfonso Business Club to help each other businesses.

In the health care program, the Alfonso LGU (local government unit) launched the Alfonso Dialysis Center, lying-in center, and soon-to-rise Alfonso Municipal Hospital and added more doctors and nurses to boost the program.

The Alfonso town mayor revealed they are building “RS Ville”, a housing program for 1,000 families eligible for those who have lived in the town for more than ten years.
