THE San Miguel Corporation (SMC) started to dump filling materials to around 343 hectares of fishpond they acquired from its owners in Tanza, Navotas City for the construction of different air support industries for the New Manila International Airport.

Mayor Toby Tiangco said the construction of Airport Support Services will pave the way for the building of different air support industries such as aviation maintenance, airport catering, fast cycle logistics, tourism, and others.

Tiangco said from Barangay Tanza, the Integrated Toll Expressway will go straight to the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan, Bulacan, “Samakatuwid, ang Navotas ay mapupunta sa pagitan ng New Manila International Airport at ng ibang mga lugar sa Metro Manila,” he added.

For his part, Congressman John Rey Tiangco said the plan to build the New Manila International Airport was the idea of world renown urban planner Arch. Jun Palafox – was one of the developers of the progressive City of Dubai that created thousands of jobs from more than 40 countries in the world.

Cong. Tiangco said the construction of Airport Support Services will deliver more job opportunities for Navoteños.

“Sa bisa po ng nilikhang City Ordinance No. 2021-40 na ating inaprobahan noong July 21, 2021, 70 porsiyento po ng mga empleyado na magtatrabaho dito ay dapat mga Navoteño,” Mayor Tiangco stated.

He said the Navotas Institute will open free new courses for their constituents to develop their skills in their new line of work.

“Makakaasa po kayo na tayo ay hindi hihinto na ipagpatuloy ang pag-unlad ng Navotas at pag-angat ng buhay ng bawa’t Navoteño,” the mayor said.
