PRESIDENT Marcos has urged well-meaning Filipinos to join the nationwide campaign to pursue the vision and development agenda of his administration.

This, they will do by joining the five-year-old Partito Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), which was established in 2018 to push for federalism in this Southeast Asian nation.

Last Thursday, August 24, President Marcos inducted new party members, including his son Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand Alexander Marcos III, more popularly known as “Sandro.”

Many see in the strengthening of the federal party as part of the Marcos administration’s all-out efforts to speed up the country’s socio-economic development.

In other words, President Marcos wants all sectors of society to support government efforts to address the many challenges now confronting the people and the nation.

These challenges and problems include stabilizing the prices of commodities, particularly rice, poverty, joblessness, underemployment, hunger and homelessness.

“As long as they are willing to help the government…in pursuing and promoting the policies that we have created for our people, then of course, they are welcome to join,” said Marcos.

After all, we believe that what’s needed is for everybody to work in unison, especially at this time of economic hardship.

Despite our many differences, the Filipino people ought to realize that salvation from our problems is still possible as long as we are willing to work together.

He urged new members, including governors, to uphold the PFP’s ideology, which is empowering LGUs as decision-makers through the concept of federal governance.

In the view of many, the key to solving our numerous problems is “unity and cooperation.”
