MARIVELES, Bataan – Another Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) branch will soon be constructed in the industrial barangay of Alas-asin after a businessman donated two hectares of land for the university.

Alas-asin Barangay Captain Dante Malimban said Louie Madlangbayan, a businessman, has donated his own private lot totaling 20,000 square meters to set up a PUP branch here.

Barangay Alas-asin hosts multinational companies such as GNPower and other large companies, providing millions of income to the barangay, municipality, and the province.

Malimban said the donated lot is located at Rosal St., in this barangay.

In her letter to Malimban, Leonila Generales, PUP branch director, said that “in line with the intention of Mr. Louie Madlambayan to donate property for PUP Bataan, we would like to invite you for a meeting with Bataan Governor, Hon. Jose Enrique ‘Joet’ Garcia, together with Mariveles Mayor Hon. Atty. Ace Jello Concepcion, on August 9, Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at the Governor’s Office.”

PUP officials from Sta. Mesa Manila and the Bataan branch will also join the meeting to sign the deed of donation and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

If pushed through, this will be another “breakthrough” for the leadership of Malimban, a recipient of the prestigious “Saludo Excellence Award for Humanitarian and Leadership Service” held at Resorts World hotel recently.
