LAS PIÑAS CITY – The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) College of Nursing in LP City Main Campus held its 1st capping and pinning rites in three years amid the Coronavirus pandemic, Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Ernesto Crisostomo Hall auditorium in Barangay Pamplona III.

101 coeds composed of 3rd year and 4th year Bachelor of Science in Nursing joined the 42nd Thanksgiving and Commitment ceremony for Batch Class 2022 and 2023 with this year’s theme, “Heroes of the Front Line: Nurses as Guiding Light in the New Normal”.

The program began with Eucharistic Celebration officiated by Rev. Fr. John Francis Aberion, RCJ, – followed by a capping, pinning, and candle lighting ceremony.

Ma. Imelda O. Javier, RN., MAN, Dean, College of Nursing spoke before her students in a welcome address and Dr. Arnaldo De Guzman, School Director gave an inspirational message to students and parents watching on Facebook Live.

Dean Javier together with Ma. Thelma Duma, RN., Ph.D led the symbolic “Lighting of the Nightingale’s Lamp”.

Face-to-face classes were reinstated after placing Metro Manila on the much-relaxed quarantine Alert Level 1 status after going through a strict lockdown at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
