BATANGAS will be under COVID-19 Alert Level 3 from January 9 to January 15, based on the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 156-A, p. 2022.

“A more intensive vaccination program against COVID-19 is needed,” said Gov. Hermilando Mandanas.

The alert level system of the province and other areas in the country has been raised due to the continuous increase in the number of newly recorded local COVID-19 cases.

“Do not be competitive, maintain discipline, continue to follow the health and safety protocols, and get vaccinated,” said Mandanas.

He said this is important to address and prevent the increase of COVID-19 cases in the Province of Batangas.

Along with the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in neighboring provinces, the number of positive ones in Batangas also increased slightly. In the week before Christmas, the province recorded 57 new cases, reaching 431 cases before the new year. As of January 5, Wednesday the number of new Covid-19 cases in Batangas has hit 629.

No restrictions have been reported on Batanguenos who have not yet been vaccinated but strict adherence to the guidelines laid down by the Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 and the Department of Health against pandemics are still being enforced.

Mandanas praised the national government for the adequate supply of COVID-19 vaccines in the province which is the reason why CALABARZON is among the leaders when it comes to vaccination programs in the country. Booster shots are also being provided at various vaccination centers in the province.

The governor also called for continued adherence to the health and safety protocol of Cleansing, Prevention, Mask, and Vaccination.
