3 Chinese nat’ls nabbed for illegal guns, drugs

THREE Chinese nationals were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and drugs during a raid Saturday before dawn in Pasay City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Kirby John Kraft identified the arrested Chinese nationals as Zhangjian Wu alias “Michael Wang”, 32; Guanglin Jiang, 28; and Wei Mao, 23, all billeted at Room 1950, 19th floor, Shore Residences Tower A, Seaside Blvd, MOA Complex, Pasay City.

Kraft said the suspects have just finished their pot session when elements of District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) led by P/Lt. Col. Ricky Dalisay barged inside their room at around 3:30 a.m. to serve the search warrant issued by Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Rowena Nieves A. Tan Wengtan of Branch 118 for possession of firearms

The search warrant was issued following information received by police that the suspects were frequently seen going in and out of their condo unit with guns tucked in their waist.

Police recovered inside their unit a caliber .9mm Glock with magazine loaded with 10 live ammunition, a caliber .38 revolver with four pieces of ammunition in its chamber, three plastic sachets containing more or less 11 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P74,800, four plastic container with liquid content suspected to be illegal substance, and several pieces of drug paraphernalia including six plastic tube, six glass toother and weighing scale.

The suspects were charged with violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition and violation of Section 11,12, and 15, Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.
