PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS SA PIKIT MAY SECURITY ESCORTS
SINIMULAN na ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang pagbibigay ng security escorts sa mga public school teachers sa mga kritikal na barangay sa bayan ng Pikit sa North Cotabato.
Sinabi ni Philippine Army 90th Infantry Battalion commander Lt. Col. Rowel Gavilanes na ang hakbang ay ginawa kasunod ng pamamaril at pagpatay kay Joel Reformado, teacher ng Damalasak Elementary School, at pagkasugat naman ng co-teacher nito na si Elton John Lapinid.
Aniya, ang sunud-sunod na insidente ng pag-atake sa mga guro sa lugar ay lubhang nakapagpa-alarma sa Department of Education.
“The Department of Education has been alarmed by the attacks against teachers in Pikit, so we are here providing them security,” pahayag ni Gavilanes.
Sa tala ng Philippine National Police, umabot na sa 30 guro ang naging biktima ng pamamaril sa iba’t ibang barangay sa Pikit.
