9 child rape suspects in Bicol behind bars

POLICE Regional Office 5 (PRO5) director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo yesterday announced the capture of nine most wanted child rape suspects in Bicol following a series of manhunt operations in the region this week.

In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Genera Dionardo B. Carlos, Estomo said the nine are facing non-bailable charges for rape, one of them in hiding since 2005.

“We are going all-out in our efforts to account for all wanted persons in Bicol to prevent them from committing more crimes and keep residents of the region safe and secure,” Brig. Gen. Estomo told the Journal Group.

One of the suspects identified as Ali Masaglang, a 36-year old resident of Sitio Tiris in Barangay Osiao, Bacon District in Sorsogon was arrested by the local police on Friday on the strength of a warrant for six counts of rape.

Tagged as the 3rd most wanted man in Sorsogon, the suspect was ordered arrested by Judge Zach Ziga of the Sorsogon City Regional Trial Court Branch 12 for repeatedly sexually abusing a teener in their neigborhood.

Another identified as Seth Jesoro, a 58-year old laborer from Bgy. Libtong in Castilla, Sorsogon was arrested on the basis of a warrant for two counts of violation of the anti-child abuse law under Republic Act 7610 issued last November 18 with no bail recommended.

The suspect was tagged as the 8th most wanted man in Castilla prior to his arrest on Wednesday. He was charged for raping a minor several times, each time offering her money allegedly to satisfy his desire.

The 3rd, Patrick Salipot,19, a resident of Purok 2 in Bgy. Armenia in Uson, Masbate was arrested on Thursday on the basis of a warrant issued by Judge Teofilo Tambago of the Masbate City RTC Branch 48 last December 1.

The 4th, identified as Renato Garcia,38, a resident of Bgy. San Nicolas, Iriga City tagged as the 8thmost wanted man in the city was arrested in Bgy. Triangulo in Naga City on the basis of a warrant for murder issued by Judge Edwin Ma-alat of the Ligao City RTC Branch 14 with no bail recommended.

Another identified as Jay-ar Bombita, a 25-year old resident of Purok 1 in Bgy. Hacienda, Tabaco City in Albay was arrested on the strength of a non-bailable warrant for two counts of rape issued by Judge Blancaflor Joven-Salgado of the Tabaco City RTC Branch 3. The suspect went into hiding after being charged of raping a young neigbhor until he was tracked down in his hiding place in Purok 4 in Bgy. Fidel Surtida in Sto. Domingo, Albay.

The 6th identified as Willie Gozarin, a pedicab driver from Prok 6, Bgy. Obrero in Bulan, Sorsogon tagged as the no. 1 most wanted man in the municipality was arrested on the basis of a warrant for rape issued by Judge Bernardo Jimenez of the Bulan RTC Branch 65 with no bail recommended. The suspect was accused of raping a minor in their neighborhood.

Another identified as Roque Blasquino, a resident of Bgy. San Roque in Bulusan, Sorsogon facing a non-bailable warrant of arrest for rape was arrested in Bgy. Sipaya in Juban.

Estomo said the suspect’s arrest was ordered by Judge Bernardo Jimenez of the Gubat, Sorsogon RTC Branch 54 on December 3, 2014. The suspect was accused of raping a young neighbor several times before going into hiding for nearly seven years with the help of some relatives and friends, said the Bicol police director.

The 8th identified as Raymark Ebio was arrested inside the public market in Bgy. Poblacion in Talisay, Camarines Norte last Sunday. Estomo said that the suspect is wanted for serious illegal detention with no bail recommended by Judge Roberto Escaro of the Daet RTC Branch 38 on August 6, 2012.

The 9th identified as Kenneth Gacosta, 20, a resident of Bgy. San Bartolome in Sta. Magdalena, Sorsogon wanted for a non-bailable rape case was arrested last Monday on the basis of a warrant issued by Judge Tobias Ariola of the Irosin, Sorsogon RTC Branch 55.

The suspect was also accused of raping a minor in their neighborhood before going into hiding.

The 10th identified as Rizaldy de Guzman,54, a resident of Sitio Imacoto in Bgy. Cagmanaba in Oas, Albay was arrested last Tuesday on the basis of a warrant for rape issued by Judge Ma-alat on February 28, 2011.

Estomo said the suspect was caught in his hiding place in Bgy. Poblacion in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.

The 11th identified as Jovenal Molina,61, a resident of Tinago, Viga, Catanduanes was arrested for a non-bailable rape case. Estomo said the suspect who has been tagged as the 5th most wanted man in Viga was arrested in Sitio Kipit in Purok 6, Bgy. Dinadiawan in Dipaculao, Aurora.

Judge Jaime Contreras of the Virac, Catanduanes RTC Branch 43 recommended no bail for the temporary liberty of the accused on December 5, 2005.
