CAGAYAN Valley policemen on Saturday arrested three “high-value drug targets” in the region during an anti-narcotics operation in Cordon, Isabela which resulted in the seizure of 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000, Police Regional Office (PRO) 2 director, Brigadier General Steve B. Ludan said yesterday.

The official identified the suspects as Jestoni Guttierez, a 30-year-old truck driver from Bgy. Alibadbad in San Mariano, Isabela; his helper Juanito Aggabao, 33, of District 3, Cauayan City; and Evelyn dela Cruz, 47, a sack vendor from Bgy. Santo Niño in Gapan City in Nueva Ecija.

Ludan said the trio were busted in a sting along the national highway in Bgy. Malapat in Cordon, Isabela around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Undercover officers from the Cordon and Maddela Municipal Police Stations, the PRO2 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Isabela Police Provincial DEU pounced on the suspects shortly after they conspired to sell P15,000 worth of the so-called “poor man’s cocaine” to an undercover officer.

When frisked, the suspects also yielded four more heat-sealed plastic sachets containing the same drug and several drug sniffing paraphernalia.

Ludan said that a trailer truck with plate number NEP 1705 being used by the suspects was impounded by the local police.

All three are now being held at the Cordon police lock-up facility facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the PRO2 director said.
