Central Visayas top drug trafficker nabbed
A WANTED top drug trafficker in Central Visayas was arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) in a manhunt operation in Cebu City early morning Thursday, PNP-DEG director, Brigadier General Remus B. Medina said.
Suspect Thom Federick Gabales, a 39-year-old resident of Upper San Roque in Bgy. Bulacan, Guadalupe, Cebu, was arrested on the strength of a non-bailable warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by Judge Ferdinand Collantes of the Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 15 last October 26, said the official.
In a report to PNP chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, the PNP-DEG director said that members of their Special Operations Unit 7, with the assistance of operatives from the Cebu City Police Station arrested the suspect at the DA Compound in Andres Abellana Street in Bgy. Guadalupe, Cebu City.
“A tip from an informant led to the arrest of the elusive suspect who has been tagged as the 4th most wanted drug personality in Cebu City,” said Medina.
The suspect is now being held at the Cebu City Police Station 7 lock-up facility pending the issuance of an official jail commitment order on him by the court, the official said.
