2,179 Cavite folk evacuated due to Typhoon Paeng

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – Around 2,179 individuals or 585 families in five cities and eight towns in Cavite were forced to seek shelter in evacuation areas in their respective localities, Saturday, October 30, 2022 due to the onslaught of typhoon Paeng.

Reported evacuees in Cavite City were 71 families/ 237 individuals, Silang: 57 families/ 360 individuals, Amadeo: 6 families, Imus: 61 families/ 216 individuals, Rosario: 8 families / 27 individuals, Noveleta: 10 families/ 39 individuals, Tagaytay: 15 families/ 65 individuals, Carmona: 3 families/ 12 individuals, Tanza: 24 families / 75 individuals, Ternate: 117 families/ 319 individuals, Gen Trias: 17 families/ 64 individuals and Bacoor: 196 families/ 765 individuals.

According to the report of Provincial Disaster Risks Reduction and Management Office, the Port and Sea voyage were suspended as of Oct 28, 2022 until further notice due to moderate to heavy intermittent rains with gusty winds

Untoward incidents that happened include a fallen pole in GMA, a fallen pole in Silang, 14 total fallen trees as of time, four flooding incidents at Bacoor, 6 flooding incidents at Imus, a fire incident at GMA, landslide incident at Indang and two vehicular accidents reported in Magallanes.

Reported areas not passable are roads and bridges in Malagasang 1G Imus, Navarro Rd and Vibora-Sta Clara Bypass Bridge in General Trias City and the Kay-Abon Overflow Bridge.

Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla suspended classes on October 28-29, 2022.
