2 truckers caught sniffing shabu in Gapan parking lot
GAPAN CITY — Two of three men who were allegedly caught in the act of sniffing shabu inside a parking lot for truckers were nabbed by the police after initially resisting arrest during an anti-illegal drug operation shortly before Saturday midnight here.
Arrested were Felix Gamboa Jr., 29, alias Junjun, helper of Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental, a resident of Bgy. Parcutela; and Jayson Bayan, 28, alias Jayson, truck driver, of Purok 7, Bgy. Talipapa, this city. A third suspect, Jonathan Ramos, of Bgy. San Roque Sur, eluded arrest.
City police head Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said the suspects were caught having a pot session at the Pascual Trucking parking lot in Bgy. Parcutela after her men responded to a tip that an illegal drug activity was taking place in the said area.
Desamito said the suspects were ordered frisked but they resisted, forcing arresting lawmen to apply necessary force to contain them.
Recovered from the suspects were six plastic sachets containing shabu worth P1,280.
Desamito said drug charges are set to be filed against the suspects while hot pursuit operations were launched against the third suspect, who still remains at large.
