Puregold employee, hubby killed in motorbike mishap
A 29-YEAR-OLD employee of Puregold died while her husband was seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Toyota Fortuner Saturday evening in Bgy. San Juan, San Pablo City, Laguna.
San Pablo City police chief , P/LT. Col. Joewie Lucas , identified the victim as Jaylin Martin Alcantara, of Bgy. Sta Felomina, San Pablo City.
Jaylin was declared dead on arrival at the hospital due to head injuries. Her husband Jervis Tarzona Alcantra, 30 , production operator, sustained serious wounds in the body and legs.
The incident occurred at about 8:47 p.m.
Investigation showed the couple was hit by Toyota Fortuner UKQ-548 driven by Jayson Tesoro Jabonillo, 29, construction worker, and resident of St John Village Bgy. San Juan.
Initial investigation showed the motorcycle was headed towards Sta. Filomena when ot was hit by the Toyota Fortuner which reportedly came from the E.M resort and was traversing the opposite lane.
The victims were brought to the Pagamutang Panlalawigan ng Laguna where the back rider, Jaylin Martin Alcantara was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The IOC together with Barangay Chairman Belda immediately conducted a follow-up operation and investigation thru backtracking of available CCTV footages installed at the place of incident which resulted to the successful identification and arrest of the suspect.
The owner of the vehicle voluntarily surrendered the vehicle involved.
