2 nabbed for selling fake paracetamol, pain reliever in Laguna
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Canlubang, Calamba, Laguna – Police on Wednesday arrested two alleged distributors of fake medicines during a buy-bust operation in Bay, Laguna.
In a report submitted to Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) Director Brig. Gen. Eliseo DC Cruz by Laguna Police Acting Provincial Director Col. Rogarth Campo, nabbed were Johnell Onieza Lilia, a 37-year-old tricycle driver, and his alleged girlfriend Jerim Grace Perez Blanko, 29, both residents of Bgy. San Antonio , Bay town.
Bay Municipal Police Station chief Maj. Jameson Aguilar said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit after handing over the fake medicines to a police poseur.
Seized from Lilia and Blanko were two boxes of counterfeit Bioflu and one box of Ibuprofen-paracetamol Alaxan FR.
Also confiscated from the suspects were boxes filled with different brands of medicines, the P1,000 marked money, and a motorcycle used in the illegal activity.
Aguilar said when asked, the lovers failed to present proper documents, including authority to sell or trade pharmaceutical products.
Appropriate charges are being readied for filing in court against the arrested suspects.
