TWO cousins – a girl, 7, and a boy, 8, suffered bad luck after their bodies were found floating in an alleged drowning incident Wednesday morning while swimming in a river of Sitio Dulong Silangan, Purok 3 Bgy. Kay-Anlog, Calamba City, Laguna.

Calamba City Police Chief P/Lt. Col. Arnel Pagulayan said the victims identified as King Lawrence Serantes Tiosan, 8, and Princess Dianna Tiosan Lara, 7, both residents of the said barangay.

Initial investigation revealed that the victims and their relatives were at the river at around 11:00 a.m. to have their swimming.

Minutes later, they noticed that the victims were floating on the river’s surface and seemed lifeless.

After that, the victim’s father immediately rescued one child after the other.

Subsequently, they reported the drowning incident to Barangay officials Kay-Anlog and later sought the assistance of LDRRMD.

The responding medical team declared the victims dead.

Both victims were subjected to autopsy examination to determine the cause of death and establish the absence of foul play.
