CABANATUAN CITY – Some P414,800-worth of shabu was seized after authorities busted two suspected female drug traffickers, who were caught with the contraband during a drug sting on early Wednesday morning here.

City police head Lt. Col. Carl Omar Fiel said his men nabbed the two suspects, who were identified as Maria Sanning Santos, 53, alias “Saning”, jobless, and Jenny Rose Balacano, 30, also unemployed, both of Purok San Antonio, Bgy. Casile, Llanera, Nueva Ecija.

Fiel said the anti-illegal drug operation was conducted in Purok 7, Bgy. Sangitan West at 5:00 a.m., where a police poseur buyer successfully bought a P500-worth of shabu from Santos, resulting in their arrest.

He said another 15 plastic sachets of shabu were seized from the two suspects.

Overall, the seized drugs weighed 61 grams with a total street value of P414,800.

The arrested suspects are now placed behind bars facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 before the City Prosecutor’s Office here.
