2 drug traffic shots killed in shootout in Bicol cops

TWO heavily-armed drug traffickers were killed in a gunbattle with policemen in Camarines Norte last Saturday, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo said.

The Bicol police director identified the slain suspects as Paciano Bandola III,31, a resident of Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur and his cousin Reynaldo Robin Bandola Jr.,29, of 43, Barangay Escopa 1 in Project 4, Quezon City.

According to the official, members of the Jose Panganiban Municipal Police Station were conducting an anti-criminality checkpoint in Purok 4, Bgy. Claero around 12:15 p.m. Saturday when they spotted the two motorcycle-riding suspects.

The two suspects reportedly ignored the order for them to stop for routine inspection, the two suspects reportedly pulled out their weapons and fired at the officers who were forced to retaliate killing both on the spot.

Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Julius D. Guadamor said the suspects have been monitored to be involved in illegal drug activities in the province and other parts of Bicol region and Q.C.

Recovered from the possession of the slain suspects were a caliber .45 pistol without serial numbers, an unlicensed 9mm submachine gun, several loaded magazines and several plastic sachets containing around 120 grams of shabu worth P576,000.

The suspects’ motorcycle was impounded by the local police.
