GAPAN CITY — Police neutralized two suspected drug peddlers and confiscated some 75 grams of shabu worth P510,000 during a buy-bust-turned-armed encounter here on Monday night.

In a report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Rhoderick B. Campo, city police head Lt. Col. Alexie A. Desamito identified the slain suspects as Randy Boy Acquiat, 33, of Bgy. Panungyan, Mendez, Cavite; and Jonathan Tipano, 33, of Bgy. Esteban, Dasmariňas, Cavite.

Desamito said the anti-illegal drug operation was pulled off in Bgy. San Roque at 6:50 p.m.

After monitoring the suspects’ illicit activities for several months, she said her men were able to close a drug deal with them.

During the transaction, however, the duo turned hostile and engaged the operatives in a firefight that resulted in their instantaneous deaths.

Recovered during the operation were 15 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 75 grams with an estimated street value of P510,000, a caliber 45, a cal. 38, bust money consisting of a P1,000 genuine bill and 35 pieces of thousand-peso boodle money and several spent shells of different gun caliber.
