10 Quezon COVID-19 patients die in single day
LUCENA CITY— Ten patients who have been infected by the coronavirus desease 2019 (COVID-19) died while 92 others were found positive of the dreaded desease, officials said.
As of 9 a.m. Thursday, Quezon had 14,733 confirmed COVID- 19 cases, with 13, 137 recoveries, 959 active cases and 637 mortalities, according to Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO) in its bulletin.
QPIO is headed by Ma. Janet Geneblazo- Buelo who was also infected with the virus and is still confined in a hospital.
In its report, QPIO said the latest 10 fatalities are from the towns of Gumaca, Lopez, Sariaya, Lucban and Tiaong.
Apart from the 637 deaths, Quezon also has 9,279 suspected cases, 165 of which have died, while there are 25 probable cases who all died.
Quezon remains under General Community Quarantine while this city with only 239 active cases was placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine last June 15.
