ROQUE Verzosa III is the new acting regional director (RD) of the Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region-West. He was the former assistant regional director of LTO-NCR-West.

Verzosa replaced Atty. Clarence Villanueva “Chuck” Guinto, former RD of the said agency, as he reached the compulsory retirement of 65 this coming October 14, 2022.

Verzosa’s designation was recommended by Assistant Secretary and LTO Chief Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III and was approved by Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista before attested by Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Legal Affairs Mark Steven C. Pastor.

Before his designation, he was assigned to the Office of the Assistant Secretary and became assistant regional director.

Verzosa’s colleagues in the agency described him as the “right man” and would be a perfect official in the position of LTO-NCR-West director.

“Kahit natutulog siya alam na alam nya ang trabaho at kung paano imaneho ang LTO-NCR-West, at ngayon siya na ang magmamaneho sigurado ang mga opisyal, empleyado lalo na ang publiko na ang agency ay nasa tamang opisyal para patakbuhin ito, hindi nagkamali si Asec. Guadiz at Sec. Bautista,” said officials and employees of the agency.

He is already experienced with public service instilled since he was young, belonging to a political family from Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, since 2004. He further owns various businesses before entering the government service last 2015.

Managing and leading are natural for him. He started his public service career as a job order at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). He worked his way up until he was transferred to LTO and was appointed by former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Director Roque, or “Rox”, is known to be a “workhorse” at LTO NCR. He constantly visits sub-offices under LTO NCR-West to ensure everything is in the loop and it provides the best service to its clientele. Even before the global pandemic, he has never missed his practice to make his rounds to guarantee that services are still delivered, and health safety measures are strictly implemented.

During his time at LTO, Verzosa was recognized and awarded the “Distinctive Leadership Excellence in Public Service Asia” Award by the Asia Council of Leaders, Administrators, Deans, and Educators in business (ACLADEB).

In addition, he was acknowledged by North-Luzon Express Way (NLEX) for the public-private sector partnership in the NLEX Biya-HERO initiative. Recently, he and his colleagues in LTO NCR-West won an award for the mark of recognition during the 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary Appreciation Program for Frontline Government.
