THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-1 is now constructing gender-neutral and persons with disability (PWDs)-sensitive toilets inside the regional headquarters in San Fernando City, La Union, the Journal Group learned on Sunday.

PRO1 director Brigadier General Lou F. Evangelista led the groundbreaking for the construction of the comfort rooms as part of their effort to promote inclusivity and respect for human rights.

The new comfort room features separate areas for males, females and PWDs to ensure everyone’s comfort.

Additionally, it will include an exclusive room for the LGBTQ+ community, a space designed to respect and honor their unique needs.

Evangelista emphasized the significance of the project, not only as an infrastructure development but also as a symbol of PRO-1’s promotion of inclusivity and respect for diversity.

“The construction of the gender-neutral comfort room is a clear sign that PRO-1 is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all,” he said.
