Triker with 2 passengers shot dead in Ecija
CUYAPO, Nueva Ecija – A tricycle driver ferrying two passengers was gunned down by unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects while traversing the highway here on Friday afternoon.
Police head Lt. Col. Erwin V. Ferry said the victim, Eddie Hilario, 58, of Bgy. Tagtagumbao, this town was driving his red Rusi tricycle going south direction along the Cuyapo-Guimba Road in Bgy. Nagmisahan when the gun attack took place at 12:59 p.m.
The victim’s two passengers identified as Herminia Cudalina, 69, and France Cedric Arendon, 19, both of Bgy. San Antonio, were unhurt.
Initial investigation disclosed that two men aboard a red motorcycle overtook the victim’s tricycle and its backrider who was wearing a helmet fired twice using a cal. 38 revolver, hitting the victim at his lower abdomen.
After which, the two suspects fled towards Guimba town while the victim, who was rushed to the Guimba district hospital, was declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.
Ferry said Scene of the Crime Operation assistance was no longer requested as the crime scene was already disturbed when responding lawmen arrived.
