ANOTHER top drug “target” in Metro Manila was arrested by combined agents of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) and the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

The suspect was arrested after selling a kilo of high-grade shabu worth P6.8 million to an undercover officer at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, PNP-DEG Director Brigadier General Randy Q. Peralta said.

In a report to PNP Officer-in-Charge (PNP-OIC) Lieutenant General Vicente D. Danao Jr., the official said the drug suspect is a farmer, residing at Consultant Road along Dupax Street in Barangay Matandang Balara, Q.C.

Brig. Gen. Peralta said that undercover officers from the PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 4-B, with the assistance of the QCPD Station 6 Drug Enforcement Unit under Brig. Gen. Remus B. Medina arrested the suspect during a sting conducted right in his residence.

Recovered were one kilo of shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P6.8 million, boodle money with marked P1,000, a small weighing scale, paraphernalia to repack shabu, and three mobile phones.

“We are conducting follow-up operations as of press time to identify and arrest the main source of the drug confiscated from the suspect,” said Brig. Gen. Peralta.

The suspect is now under the custody of the DEG SOU 4-B and will be facing non-bailable charges for the sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
