Trillanes finds laughable put down of PBBM as weak, cites his strong leadership qualities

NO less than former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, well known as a staunch political opposition figure, categorically described President Ferdinand Bong Bong Marcos Jr. as a strong leader who can face a strong oppressor like China.

Trillanes laughed off the description of former President Rodrigo Duterte and his camp describing the chief executive as weak leader saying that those words and description against Marcos Jr. were purely part of their destabilization move against the present government.

“Perceived as weak but he is actually very strong. Trillanes said.

Trillanes clarified that a traditional opposition where he belongs will never hesitate to speak up for what is right specially when it comes to policy of whoever is in the position particularly when it is not pro people compared to the camp of Duterte whom he described as a de facto opposition, “na ang agenda lamang ay patalsikin ang kasalukuyan lehitimong gobyerno ni Marcos Jr.”

“Kagaya nina Senator Hontiveros maging si Senator Pimentel. Nakita natin na naka-focus sila sa polisiya. At alam nila kung dapat natin samahan ang pangulo kagaya na lamang ng isyu ng West Philippine Sea,” Trillanes said during an interview with vlogger Tap Wan.

The former senator narrated how Marcos Jr. strongly faced all his challenges even during the time when they were still senators under the Aquino administration.

“Nuong magkasama pa kami bilang senador sa ilalim ng isang isang partido, wala siyang ipinakitang masamang tinapay, whether privately or publicly. ‘Yan na ang brand niya noon pa man,” Trillanes said.

Trillanes, a former Navy officer-turned-senator, disclosed how Marcos Jr., who was his partymate in the Nacionalista Party handled himself well during the time that they were still in the Senate.

I believe that what they see in him as a weak leader is actually the opposite. He is a strong leader!” Trillanes insisted.

He also narrated that he went with Marcos on a cruise for several days and to Singapore with Senator Lito Lapid and on various occasions when they were still in the Senate.

He laughed off the accusations against President Marcos Jr. of being a drug user.

Meanwhile, Senator dela Rosa, chair of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, earlier said his committe will proceed with the investigations in order to identify the person behind the alleged leaked PDEA documents and to know the truth considering that this matter is dragging President Marcos Jr.

Under the confidential document circulating online, Marcos and Soriano were listed on PDEA’s Operate and Pre-Operation Report dated March 11, 2012 which PDEA claimed was a fake document.

Based on reports, actress Maricel Soriano expressed willingness to attend in the next hearing.
