Thai firm donates 3 tons of tilapia to Samal’s ‘Bayanihan on wheels’
SAMAL, Bataan — Mayor Aida Macalinao of this town has also launched her own version of ‘Bayanihan on wheels.’
Led by the ‘Team Aksyon at Malasakit at Bayanihan’ that the mayor had created, Macalinao said the Bayanihan on wheels will go all the way to remote sitios and barangays to personally distribute foods and other items needed by the community during this pandemic.
Macalinao personally appealed to who have much in lives to donate whatever they can give to the Team Action and Malasakit who in turn will distribute it to the needy.
In response, the Charoen Pokphand Food Philippines (CPF) led by its president Udomsak Aksornphakdee donated three tons ‘tilapia’ to the people of Samal.
It was not the first time the CPF has donated food to the Samaleños as it had been providing free rice, canned goods among others since the early days of pandemic. CPF has also donated medical equipment to the Samal Rural Health Unit, now benefitting Samaleños.
Macalinao and the people of Samal expressed gratitude to Udomsak and his company for the assistance.
