T2000 stays unbeaten

TEAM 2000 made it three wins in a row by beating Batch 94, 90-83, for the solo lead in the 2023 ERJHS Alumni Sports Club basketball tournament at the Barangay N.S. Amoranto covered court in Quezon City.

Brothers Mark Louie and Jeff Caguisa combined for 36 points to power T2000, which is hoping to regain the title they won in 2019.
M. Caguisa finished with 19 points while J. Caguisa added 17 points for the Jerome Nell-mentored T2000, which also won over Team 80s, 71-67 and Batch 89, 79-64.

Chris Santiago added 12 points and Joseph Bognot and Jonathan Bagane contributed 10 points apiece for T2000.

Vince Laxa and Jay Delos Santos paced Batch 94 with 25 and 17 points, respectively.

In the other games, Batch 2000 outlasted Batch 93, 63-55, and Batch 89 subdued Batch 96, 60-50.

Batch 2000 relied on Patrick Gamboa (20), Julius Isidro (12) and Julius Decio (10) to roll back Batch 93 for its second straight win.

Former Most Valuable Player Joseph Magpantay carried the fight for Batch 93 with a tournament-high 38 points.

Batch 89 rode on Alvin Tanare’s 19 points and Rogelio Cano’s 14 points to beat Batch 96 and barge to the win column after two losses.

Melvin Mendoza scored 13 points for Batch 96, which dropped to 1-2.

In volleyball, Batch 94 posted back-to-back victories over Batch 96,10-25, 25-20,15-7, and Team 80s, 10-25, 25-12, 15-13, for its third win in four matches.

Batch 96 defeated Team 80s, 25-18, 25-17, for its first win against three losses.

Team 80s dropped to 2-2.

The tournament is supported by Wang’s Ballclub, Barangay N.S. Amoranto chairman Ato de Guzman and William “Maca” Chua of Ping Ping Lechon. AA
