A MAN who allegedly used a stolen credit card to purchase P14,000 worth of clothes was arrested inside a coffee shop in Quezon City while reportedly trying to use the card again on Wednesday.

Police said the suspect is now facing charges of theft and violation of Republic Act 8484 or the Access Devices Regulation Act.

Lt. Col. Elizabeth Jasmin, Kamuning Police Station 10 commander, said it is not the first time the suspect was caught for the same offenses and said the suspect is also facing the exact charges in Mandaluyong City.

A report from Station 10 said the suspect went to the Anytime Fitness Gym in Bgy. West Triangle, at around 3:30 p.m., stole a patron’s wallet, which contained the victim’s credit cards and driver’s license.

The victim noticed something was wrong when he received messages on his cellphone about several transactions from his credit cards and found out his wallet was already missing when he checked his locker room.

The victim told the police that the suspect bought around P14,000 worth of clothes using his credit cards.

The victim tracked the suspect’s whereabouts through the transactions made at his account.

The suspect was at a Starbucks coffee shop at a mall in Bgy. South Triangle when the victim caught up with him at around 10:45 p.m.

The suspect attempted to escape but was collared after a brief chase.
