A FEMALE student who went to her classmate’s house to answer her modules on Monday night was found dead in a bush in Laurel, Batangas.

Alias Jenny, 15, of Bgy. Sta. Maria, Laurel town, and a daughter of an overseas Filipino worker in Saudi Arabia, was allegedly raped before she was killed.

Her body was discovered in a grassy area in the village.

The victim’s family told police that on Monday morning, Jenny asked permission to go to her classmate’s house so they could answer their modules together.

“Bago raw umuwi ay dumaan muna ang biktima sa kanilang alagang baka para pakainin ito. Inabot na ang gabi ay hindi pa ito nakauwi kaya nag-alala na ang kanyang pamilya,” a prober said.

Her failure to return home by nightfall worried her family, who immediately launched a search for her.

The victim was already naked, her face covered with her own clothes and her module lay beside her body when she was found.

Investigators said there were indications that she was raped and strangled to death.

A witness told the local police that the teenager was last seen in the company of a local barangay “tanod” who was placed under custody by the police on Tuesday but was later released by the police.

The tanod denied involvement in the crime.

SUSPECT YIELDS

Laurel police chief Capt. Errol Frejas said a witness pointed to a tanod in Bgy. Sta.Maria, as the alleged suspect.

Frejas said it turned out that the alleged witness was the culprit in Jenny’s rape-slaying.

Jayvie San Vicente, the alleged witness, accompanied by his parents, surrendered to Frejas, and confessed to molesting and killing Jenny.

San Vicente also executed a testimony withdrawing his statement against the village watchman.

PNP CHIEF ASSURES JUSTICE

Philippine National Police chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar yesterday vowed full justice for the 15-year-old victim.

The top cop directed the Laurel Municipal Police Station to make sure they have an airtight case against the suspect in the gruesome case.

Eleazar expressed his condolences to the victim’s family as he vowed that the PNP will give justice to her death.

“Bilang magulang ramdam ko ang sakit at pagdadalamhati ng mga naulila ng biktima. Ako ay nakikiramay sa pamilya ng dalagita na malayo pa sana ang mararating sa buhay. Titiyakin ng PNP na airtight ang kaso para siguradong mapanagot sa batas ang salarin sa karumal-dumal na krimen na ito,” the PNP chief said. With Alfred Dalizon
