SPEAKER Martin G. Romualdez on Wednesday said there is a possibility that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. will sign into law the proposed P5.268-trillion General Appropriations Bill (GAB) for 2023 immediately upon the latter’s return from Belgium.

During Wednesday’s Christmas lunch with House reporters, Romualdez reiterated anew that the national budget needs President Marcos’ signature to hasten the country’s economic growth.

“Perhaps after his return from the trip to Brussels [Belgium],” Romualdez said.

President Marcos will visit Belgium to attend the ASEAN-European Union (EU) Commemorative Summit scheduled from December 11 to 14.

On Monday, the House of Representatives and Senate separately ratified the bicameral conference on next year’s national budget.

“We tackled it with dispatch and again with your support, we’ve done our job. And we hope that this will really add to the success of our President’s Agenda of Prosperity,” Romualdez said.
