KAI Sotto has thrown his name in the 2022 NBA Rookie Draft.
The 7-foot-3 big man hopes to continue his professional journey by playing in the world’s biggest basketball league.
“I have declared for the 2022 NBA Draft. Please pray for and support me during my quest to fulfill my ultimate dream,” Sotto posted on his Instagram account.
Seeking to become the first homegrown Filipino to reach the NBA, the 19-year-old center from Las Piñas has just competed his lone season with Australia’s NBL.
Playing for the Adelaide 36ers, Sotto a won the hearts of fans from Down Under as he captured the Fans’ Most Valuable Player Award.
Sotto was given the award on Wednesday after being chosen by fans through online voting.
The 36ers ended their season with 10 wins and 18 losses. In 23 games, Sotto logged an average of 7.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest.
