Sara keeps lead — Pulse Asia
LAKAS-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte is still leading the race for the second highest position in the government, based on the latest Pulse Asia survey.
About 56 percent of the respondents preferred the Davao City Mayor to be the next vice president.
Her score has widened her lead over second choice Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto who got 24 percent.
The survey was conducted from March 17 to 21 with 2,400 respondents.
According to the survey, Mayor Sara points were up by 3 percent as compared to the last survey in February wherein she got 53 percent.
The survey also showed that the vice presidential daughter won in all regions: Mindanao, 83 percent; National Capital Region 56 percent; Balance Luzon, 44 percent and Visayas 50 percent.
Behind Mayor Sara and Sotto are Senator Kiko Pangilinan, 15 percent; Doc Willie Ong, 5 percent and BUhay Rep. Lito Atienza, 1 percent.
Senatorial race
Veteran politicians continue to dominate the senatorial race.
However, first timer in politics and broadcaster Raffy Tulfo is leading the race.
He was followed by Antique Rep, Loren Legarda (2nd); Taguig City Rep. Allan Peter Cayetano (3rd) and Sorsogon Gov. Francis Escudero (4th), who are all comebackers.
Former Public Works and Highway Sec. Mark Villar is on the 5th spot; followed by re-electionists Sherwin Gatchalian, 6th; Migz Zubiri, 7th; actor Robin Padilla, 8th and former Vice President Jejomar Binay, 10th.
On the 1th and 12th spots are brothers Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito. The two run for senate in 2019 elections but lost.
Outside the magic 12 are Risa Hontiveros; Gringo Honasan; Richard Gordon; Antonio Trillanes IV; Guillermo Eleazar and Gilbert Teodoro.
