Road rage kills online seller in Cavite
IMUS CITY, Cavite – A rider was startled in the middle of the road after he was shot in the cheek by a biker here.
In a report by Emil Sumangil on GMA News “24 Oras” on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, the victim was identified as Jonas Dela Cruz, 23, an online seller.
The suspect was arrested during a follow-up operation by the local operatives.
Closed-circuit television or (CCTV) footage shows Dela Cruz riding a motorcycle when he suddenly fell in the middle of the street.
According to the suspect, the victim allegedly “pinched” him on the road. He almost fell into the ditch.
The suspect appeared to have shot and quickly stepped away from the victim. But because of the CCTV footage, his identity was determined, and the authorities arrested him.
The victim died while being treated at the hospital.
Seized from the suspect is a magnum caliber 22 he used on the victim and will face murder charges.
