MWP laborer collared in Sorsogon
CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – A 40-year-old laborer and rank no. 2 most wanted person (MWP) in Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) for rape, abuse, and acts of lasciviousness was nabbed by joint operatives in his hiding place in Bgy. Bibincahan, Sorsogon City, Sorsogon, Monday morning.
According to the report of Batangas Police Director Col. Glicerio C. Cansilao to P/Brig. Gen. Antonio C. Yarra, regional director of PRO-Calabarzon, the suspect is a resident of Bgy. Bibincahan, Sorsogon City.
Joint forces of Malvar Municipal Police Station (MPS) along with operatives of the Regional Intelligence Unit-Police Regional Office (RIU-PRO 5, Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT) Sorsogon, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 4A, and Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT)-BPPO served the warrant of arrest with charges of rape, rape by sexual assault, acts of lasciviousness and RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) around 10:08 a.m. at the suspect’s residence.
The suspect allegedly molested a 10-year-old Grade 5 student at their home in Bgy. San Andres, Malvar, Batangas on several occasions.
The suspect has been detained at Malvar MPS and is scheduled to be brought before the court.
“Any important information that will help the authorities, please immediately cooperate with your police. [We] will work together to keep our community safe from people who are guilty of the law and any crime these people may cause,” Brig. Gen Yarra said.
