QC cops hunt suspect in hit-and-run of MC taxi rider
AUTHORITIES are hunting the truck driver who escaped after hitting a rider of a ride-hailing app in Quezon City on Wednesday.
Police said the male victim, 36, was a rider for a ride-hailing app for motorcycle taxis.
A report from the District Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) showed that the victim was traveling along Congressional Avenue in Barangay Bahay Toro when the mishap occurred at around 12 noon.
Witnesses said a truck hit the rider in front of Town Country Homes.
However, the truck driver drove away from the scene instead of stopping.
Bystanders brought the victim to the Quezon City General Hospital for medical treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries at around 5:37 p.m., March 8.
Investigators have yet to determine the suspect’s identity.
