CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Doing their share in addressing global warming and climate change, Police Regional Office 3 policewomen and female non-uniformed personnel on Tuesday launched a tree-planting activity within the PRO3 camp premises.

A total of 200 seedlings of fruit and non-fruit-bearing trees were planted during the half-day activity.

The month of March is celebrated annually as Women’s Month under Proclamation No. 224 in recognition of the critical role of women in economic, cultural, political, social, and other spheres in the nation’s life.

Regional Community Affairs and Development Division chief Col. Marites Salvadora, who spearheaded the activity, said: “Today, we are not just officers sworn to uphold the law; we are environmental stewards, united in a common cause to nurture and protect our planet.

“Our duty extends beyond the streets we patrol; it encompasses the very earth beneath our feet. And what better way to honor this duty than by planting trees, the guardians of our environment, symbols of growth, and beacons of hope,” she added.
