July 8, 2023 People's Tonight 1013 views

Pokemon1THE next challenge for Pokémon games is to bring fresh entertainment to sleeping! The core gameplay of Pokémon Sleep is simple: You place your smart device by your pillow, then go to sleep. Just like that, waking up in the morning becomes something to look forward to!

Find Pokémon “Sleep Styles” Together with Snorlax in Pokémon Sleep!

Your adventure takes place on a cluster of small islands somewhere in the world. Together with a large Snorlax who lives on the islands, and Neroli, a professor studying Pokémon sleeping habits, you’ll carry out research into how Pokémon sleep.

A new video (https://youtu.be/IGu40yDmeKA) has been released to introduce you to Pokémon Sleep.

The Pokémon Company is pleased to present the following information about Pokémon Sleep, the mobile app in development for iOS and Android.

Aim to Complete the Sleep Style Dex!

Collaborate with Pokémon sleep researcher Professor Neroli to complete the Sleep Style Dex.

The Sleep Styles of Different Pokémon

Pokémon all have sleep styles that are full of personality and charm. These sleep styles may provide a glimpse into Pokémon behaviors and unique characteristics. Experience the fun of discovering something new every morning by seeing which Pokémon are sleeping in which styles.

How to Play Pokémon Sleep

In Pokémon Sleep, you can track your sleep at night, study the gathered Pokémon sleep styles the next morning, and raise up Snorlax nice and big during the day. The more sleep you get, and the bigger Snorlax becomes, the more Pokémon you’ll be able to meet, and the more sleep styles you’ll be able to discover.

Track Your Sleep

Place your smart device or Pokémon GO Plus + by your pillow to track your sleep.

Please take note of the following:

• While we have made references to “daytime” and “nighttime” based on general circadian rhythm, you can play this game regardless of what time of day or night you sleep.

• When tracking sleep with your smart device or Pokémon GO Plus +, please avoid placing it on hard surfaces such as the bedframe or floor. For more accurate tracking, we recommend placing it on a soft surface such as your bed and leaving it by your pillow.

Morning

① Begin Sleep Research When You Wake Up

You can start sleep research right after you wake up. Once you’ve checked the results of your sleep tracking, study the sleep styles of the Pokémon that have gathered around Snorlax and record them in your Sleep Style Dex.

Snorlax’s Drowsy Power determines how many Pokémon gather each time. Snorlax can be found living all over the islands in Pokémon Sleep. They exert a mysterious power called Drowsy Power which draws Pokémon near and gets them snoozing away.

Using the Sleep Synchronizer invented by Professor Neroli, Snorlax’s Drowsy Power is amplified and Snorlax’s sleep is synced with your own, drawing all sorts of Pokémon to gather around Snorlax.

Snorlax’s Drowsy Power is calculated each time by combining Snorlax’s Strength (which indicates its growth) with the amount of time you’ve slept. You may be able to draw in more Pokémon or see rarer sleep styles the greater this Drowsy Power grows.

The Three Sleep Types

Pokémon Sleep categorizes sleep into three types: Dozing, Snoozing, and Slumbering. Your sleep will be classified as one of these. Pokémon whose sleeping pattern matches your sleep type will gather around Snorlax.

② Befriend the Pokémon that Gather Around

After you’ve studied the sleep styles of the gathered Pokémon, you’ll be able to give them Poké Biscuits. This will make them feel friendlier toward you, and they’ll become able to join you as helper Pokémon.

Daytime

① Raise a Big Snorlax with Your Helper Pokémon

Your helper Pokémon will gather Berries to give to Snorlax, and can activate skills to support you in raising Snorlax.

Each Snorlax has certain Berries and dishes it prefers. If you build your team of helper Pokémon based on Snorlax’s preferences, you should be able to help Snorlax gain more Strength. Your helper Pokémon will gather Berries for you even during times of day when you’re not playing Pokémon Sleep.

② Make Dishes for Snorlax to Build Strength

If Snorlax eats dishes made from the ingredients your helper Pokémon gathered, it will be able to build even more Strength. You can cook dishes three times a day: in the morning, in the afternoon, and at night. Why not cook a dish for Snorlax whenever you sit down for a meal yourself?

New Research Begins Every Monday

Every Monday, you’ll choose a new site to move to and you’ll encounter a new Snorlax to raise there. That will be the start of a new week of sleep research! The Pokémon you can encounter will differ depending on the area you’re in. The new Snorlax’s Drowsy Power will also build up from scratch as the week proceeds through Tuesday, Wednesday, and beyond. More Pokémon may come to sleep on the weekends, and they may even be rarer species than usual!

Share Your Sleep Research with Your Friends in the Research Community

If you register another player as a friend, you’ll be able to share your sleep duration and sleep type with them, as well as various other kinds of information, like the number of sleep styles you’ve studied and the Pokémon in your helper teams.

You can also get rewards for reviewing your friends’ sleep research.

Be Aware of How Long and Consistent Your Sleep is

Getting Plenty of Sleep Builds Up Drowsy Power

In Pokémon Sleep, you’ll be assigned a “sleep score” based on how long you’ve slept. You’ll get 100 points when you sleep for at least 8.5 hours. The longer you sleep, the greater Snorlax’s Drowsy Power will become. The greater this Drowsy Power grows, the more Pokémon will gather, giving you more opportunities to befriend them.

Your Sleep Consistency is Evaluated After a Week of Sleep Tracking

Your sleep consistency (in other words, your sleeping habits) is evaluated based on a week-long sleep-tracking period that begins every Monday.

The app has a “bedtime” feature that helps you get into the habit of consistent sleeping by letting you set a target time to go to bed. If you go to bed at your target time, you can earn a stamp on your stamp card and receive rewards.

Pre-Registration Begins on Android Devices!

Pokémon Sleep will accept pre-registrations on Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pokemon.pokemonsleep) starting on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

If you pre-register on Google Play, you’ll be able to be notified once the app goes live. Details on pre-registration will be posted on the app’s page on Google Play and on the Pokémon Sleep official Twitter page (https://twitter.com/PokemonSleepApp).

Please note that pre-registration is not planned for iOS.
