PNP-SAF captures 3 most wanted persons

SEPARATE anti-criminality operations conducted by agents of the Philippine National Police – Special Action Force in the countryside last Friday led to the capture of three of the Philippines’ most wanted persons, the Journal Group learned yesterday.

“This is part of our continuing effort to assist other PNP territorial units in accounting for most wanted criminals in the country as ordered by PNP chief Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.,” said PNP-SAF director Maj. Gen. Rudolph B. Dimas.

The official said that one of the suspects identified as Marjun Sabanal, the 2nd most wanted person in Pikit, North Cotabato, was arrested by members of the SAF’s 11th and 4th Special Action Battalions. The suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest for an attempted murder case.

The second identified as Jeremias Magaoay, the 6th most wanted man in Ilocos Norte, was tracked down in his hiding place in Bacarra municipality by officers from the SAF’s 144th Special Action Company.

The third identified as Arnel Torres, the 3rd most wanted person in Pikit, Cotabato, was arrested in Bgy. Bangkal in Magpet municipality by troops from the 112th SAC. The suspect is wanted for a homicide case.

Dimas said his men were able to arrest the three suspects with the help of local territorial units and the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
