‘Pimp’ of minor sex workers falls

THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) apprehended an alleged male pimp in an entrapment operation in Angeles City.

The suspect has been identified by the NBI-Pampanga District Office (NBI-PAMDO as Jojit Zamora Caronan.

Caronan was promptly brought in for an inquest hearing at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Angeles City for human trafficking under Section 6 of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended by R.A. 10364, in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

The operation was initiated following information received by NBI-PAMDO that Caronan has been using a fictitious Facebook account to offer sexual services involving minors in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Subsequent online surveillance operations conducted by NBI-PAMDO verified the information and confirmed that the suspect would send explicit photographs of minors to potential clients, enticing them to engage in illicit activities with minors for money ranging from P3,000 to P10,000.

NBI-PAMDO undercover agents established communication with Caronan through Facebook and successfully engaged in a transaction involving two minors.

The operation was conducted on May 18 by NBI-PAMDO, in coordination with the 301st Special Mission Group of the 300th Air Intelligence Security Wing of the Philippine Airforce.

When Caronan arrived at the location on a motorcycle, accompanied by a female passenger.

The suspect told the undercover agents that the woman the minor beingg being offered for sexual services.

After receiving the marked money as payment for the minor sex worker, NBI-PAMDO operatives promptly arrested the suspect.
