THE Ambassador of the Philippine Embassy in Canada recently met with the Labor Minister of British Columbia (BC) and the Acting Mayor of Calgary City to discuss the credentials recognition of Filipino immigrants especially nurses in Canada.

Ambassador Rodolfo Robles met separately with British Columbia Labor Minister Harry Bains on 09 December 2021 in Vancouver, and Calgary City Acting Mayor Raj Dhaliwal at the City Hall of Calgary on 7 December 2021 to push for the credentials recognition in Canada of Filipino professionals.

Robles shared with the two officials the highlights of the Credentials Recognition in Canada (CRC) Project being proposed by Philippine Posts in Canada (PPC).

In his meeting with Bains, Robles specifically requested for the provincial government to consider providing financial grants to internationally educated nurses who are interested in obtaining accreditation as registered nurses in British Columbia.

In his discussion with Dhaliwal, Robles expressed confidence that PPC and the City of Calgary would be able to collaborate in this advocacy, for which the Acting Mayor expressed his support.

The CRC Project is a major advocacy of the Ambassador and is being implemented across Canada by PPC.

PPC is composed of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Philippine Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto

He was accompanied in the meeting by Consul General Maria Andrelita Austria, Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel Fernandez III, Deputy Consul General Arlene Magno, and Labor Representative Jainal Rasul, Jr.
