AIRASIA Philippines on Monday received distinguished recognition from the Philippine Navy (PN) for its significant involvement in various humanitarian efforts through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) umbrella program, “alwaysREDy: anytime, anywhere”, during the PN’s 124th anniversary at the Navy Headquarters in Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla personally received the award during the Philippine Navy’s “Outstanding Stakeholders’ Awards”.

Isla was accompanied by AirAsia Philippines Spokesperson and Head of Communications and Public Affairs Steve Dailisan and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Executive Kevin Samonte.

The world’s best low-cost airline was the only airline company recognized along with 34 other private corporations, during the event.

“We are very much humbled by this recognition by the Philippine Navy. Central to AirAsia’s values is ‘We Win as One’, highlighting our commitment to inclusivity and shared victories with internal and external partners. This is the reason why AirAsia stays at the forefront of relief efforts whenever the country is ravaged by natural calamities and emergencies. The Filipino people can expect that the world’s best low-cost airline will always be with them in withstanding challenges that the nation will be facing,” Isla said.

Philippine Navy Flag Officer-in-Command Vice Admiral Adeluis Bordado said, “Social innovation thrives on collaboration. While we perform our duty to protect the country, the Navy must engage and collaborate with various stakeholders from different fields. We honor our 35 partners for generously extending their support to help us fulfill our mandate.”

Last December, the world’s best low-cost airline airlifted goods and social workers to destinations like Bohol, Cebu, Puerto Princesa, and Iloilo.

AirAsia also partnered with government and non-government organizations (NGOs) like the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, Operation Smile Philippines, Liter of Light, Sip Water, Smart Beverages, New Life Community, Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the Philippine Navy (PN) for relief efforts.

Earlier this month, Team alwaysREDy also flew to Capiz province to distribute relief goods to communities affected by Typhoon “Agaton”. By Jun I. Legaspi
