Palay trader cheats death during robbery in NE

A PALAY businessman on Wednesday was shot by two robbers on a highway in Nueva Ecija.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Nueva Ecija police identified the victim as Victor Paynor, 47, of Bgy. San Vicente, Jaen, Nueva Ecija.

The San Isidro police said the victim was driving an Izusu Elf truck going to Bgy. Parcutela, Gapan City, when two men on a motorcycle with sidecar blocked his path and declared a holdup.

The suspects took from Paynor the P300,000 cash then fired shots at the victim before escaping.

Responding policemen rushed Paynor to the N. E. Medics Hospital in Bgy. Alua, San Isidro for medical treatment.

Lawmen found two fired cartridge cases for cal. .45 at the crime scene.
