CLARK FREEPORT – A kilo of imported shabu worth P6.9 million was seized from a male claimant on Monday in an operation.

The PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) Pampanga identified the male claimant as Razel John Manuel, 22, of Green Gate Home Phase 2, Malagasang 2B, Imus City, Cavite.

Based on the initial report, the package containing the illegal substances came from Johannesburg, South Africa, and arrived at the Port of Clark on March 11.

The package was consigned to a certain “Louis Diaz”, and was intended to be delivered to her address in Angeles City, Pampanga.

The PDEA said they tried to contact the consignee but to no avail.

“On March 20, the point of origin directed the courier service to reroute the package to Cavite that prompted us in launching a controlled delivery operation,” the PDEA said.

Diaz (consignee) did not appear at the place of delivery but had given written authorization for Manuel to claim the package that resulted in the claimant’s arrest.

Seized from the operation were one package containing one kilo of shabu, one ID, and the authorization letter.

The operation was jointly conducted by operatives led by PDEA Pampanga, Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, BOC (Bureau of Customs) Port of Clark, PDEA Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Imus City Police, and AVSEU3.

The claimant will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
