Over P9-M marijuana destroyed in Kalinga

MORE than P9-million worth of fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings on Thursday were uprooted and burned by combined operatives of the Philippine National Police – Drug Enforcement Group and the Cordillera Police Regional Office in Tinglayan, Kalinga, PDEG director Col. Dionisio B. Bartolome announced yesterday.

The official said that members of the PDEG Cordillera Special Operations Group and the local police stormed the cannabis site in Bgy. Butbut in Tinglayan municipality early morning Thursday.

The officers uprooted more than 45,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants and burned them on site.

No arrests were made during the operation.
