Ople thanks UK for hosting 190K Pinoys
MIGRANT Workers Secretary Susan Ople welcomes British Ambassador to the Philippines, Her Excellency Laure Beaufils, during the latter’s courtesy call at the DMW Office in Mandaluyong City, earlier today, February 02, 2023.
Secretary Ople expressed her appreciation to the UK government for hosting around 189,887 Filipinos in the United Kingdom. Of these 80,020 are OFWs, a majority of which are working in the healthcare sector.
Ambassador Beaufils conveyed the UK government’s deep appreciation for the dedication of Filipino health care workers at the height of the pandemic.
“Most Britons have a personal story to share of the compassion, care, and skill a Filipino health care worker showed to a relative, a parent. They are second to none,” the Ambassador said.
