NPC vows full support for party member DSWD chief
THE proud Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) vowed all out support to its member, former Valenzuela City Representative Rex Gatchalian who was newly-appointed as secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Gatchalian is a stalwart member of the NPC, one of the biggest political party in the country.
In a statement of NPC shared by another member and close friend Quezon Rep. Mark Enverga, the party welcomed the appointment of Gatchalian and assured Filipinos that he will serve well to the best of his ability.
The party wishes Gatchalian on his new responsibility and bigger challenges in his new role as member of the Marcos Cabinet.
“This new appointment is noteworthy, an honor and a testament to Sec. Gatchalian’s worth and merits. The NPC family is fully confident that with his experience, wisdom, determination and leadership, our government will be able to fully gain the trust and support of the people as he exemplifies the true essence of public service,” the group said.
As a former mayor of Valenzuela City, the NPC believes that Gatchalian is a perfect fit for this new role and with his hardworking nature and enthusiasm he will add incredible value in the pursuit of continued excellence of DSWD.
The members assured Gatchalian that they will stand by him and give him the maximum support as he leads the department.
Meanwhile, Northern Samar Rep. Paul Daza expressed confidence that under Gatchalian’s watch, the DSWD will be guided by professionalism and compassion.
“Rex is extremely qualified for the position. During his tenure as a beloved three-term Mayor of Valenzuela City, he vastly improved the Health and Social Services in his constituency. His exemplary performance as Valenzuela’s chief local executive, especially during the pandemic, showed his understanding of the problems on the ground and his commitment to public service,” Daza said.
“As his fellow Congressman in the august halls of the House of Representatives, and as his friend, I am confident that under his leadership, the DSWD will be guided by the same professionalism and compassion that have defined his successful career. A success that, I firmly believe, he can replicate in handling the country’s social and poverty alleviation programs,” the solon added.
