Noveleta kids, SCs receive flu jabs
NOVELETA, Cavite – To ensure the safety of children and senior citizens in the locality, the local government here provided flu vaccine for youth aged 3 years old and above and free pneumonia vaccine to senior citizens (SC).
Hundreds of children’s queue for free anti-flu jabs, while waiting for the COVID-19 vaccine for the pediatric population aged 3 to 11 years old approved by the Department of Health (DOH) upon the request of Mayor Dino Chua to the local health office here.
Dr. Maria Hilda Bucu, head of Noveleta Rural Health Unit (RHU) and Dr. Celine Timbang conducted the inoculation program, Sunday, January 30, 2022.
“I encourage all the senior citizens to avail this jab for them to have an extra protection against COVID-19 and also the parents of kids ages 3 years old and above na pabakunahan ng anti-flu vaccine ang inyong mga anak, ito po ay libre handog ng LGU,” Mayor Chua said.
While, the COVID-19 vaccination program continues on the 2nd floor of the Primark Town Center in Barangay Magdiwang every Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the 1st, 2nd, and booster doses in all priority groups.
Dr. Hilda Bucu, announced that the COVID-19 cases in the locality have dropped significantly, from 25 cases on January 2, to 283 active cases on January 15, to 44 active cases on February 1, 2022, to a total of 2,502 confirmed cases, 2,394 recoveries, and no fatality added to a total of 64 deaths.
“Patuloy po natin sundin ang health protocol para po sa ating kaligtasan at ng ating pamilya po,” Dr. Hilda Bucu added.
