AFTER highly-successful opening day, the fun hasn’t stopped at the 2nd Philippine Horseracing and Breeding Expo at Il Centro, Sta. Lucia Mall in Cainta.

Contests where participants received cash and souvenir items abound the morning session highlighted by the Race-calling Competition to which the audience had a grand time in watching the participants tried to outdo each other in making like true race-callers in the mold of Tony Trinidad and Ira Hererra.

Afterwhich, the racehorse simulator was brought to the stage area where several of those at the event tried their hand on riding atop emulating their racetrack idols.

Everyone that mounted the simulator went home with an Expo souvenir.

After a brief lunch break, Equestrian Association of the Philippines president Xavier Virata took to the stage to discuss about rehoming and retraining ex-racehorses stressing that there is life for these equine athletes beyond racing.

To the surprise of everyone, Virata played a video message from former EAP president, national athlete and Asian Games gold medalist Mikee Cojuangco- Jaworski sharing her congratulations to the organizing Philracom.

She also expressed her hope that the relationship between the EAP and the Philracom bring the public closer to foster the growth of equine sports.

It was then the Philippine Red Cross’ turn to step on the stage and educate the public on proper first aid and the finally, zumba fanatics grabbed the spotlight in their creative cowboy costumes in the Dance and Fitness Marathon which closed out the day’s activities.
