NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Jonnel C. Estomo lauded the combined operatives of Pasay City Police, Regional Intelligence Division, Quezon City Police Station 13, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion for the successful conduct of the manhunt operation, which resulted in the arrest of no. 1 most wanted person (MWP) for “rape” cases in Pasay City.

Estomo said the arrested wanted person with the alias “Eric,” a resident of Sabotan, Barangay Biga 1, Silang Cavite, went hiding after committing a crime of four counts of rape in Pasay City.

He was arrested at around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday in front of a gas station in Bgy. Biga 1, Silang, Cavite, by an arrest warrant issued by Hon. Presiding Judge Elmer Joseph R. Guerzon of Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 113 with no bail recommended.

“Our law enforcement effort does not end in the filing of cases against suspects in the commission of a crime. We also need to ensure that these suspects were brought before the court to face the charges filed against them. Hence our mandate [is] to locate and cause the arrest of wanted persons and ultimately bring them before the court. I commend the effort of the units concerned for their diligent effort to locate and arrest this top wanted person,” Estomo said.

The rape suspect was taken under police custody pending the issuance of a commitment order and return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin.
